Review of Once Upon a Princess by Harper Bliss and Clare Lydon

I’m taking a semi-break this summer from hosting guest posts, giveaways, and interviews to recharge my batteries and to enjoy the surprisingly nice weather in London. I’m not completely on a break since I’m still putting the weekly new release newsletters together.

However, I don’t want to leave all of you hanging, so Rachael from Les Rêveur has stepped in to help out and has given me permission to repost her reviews here. I’m super excited to share Rachael’s reviews with all of you.

Up first is Rachael’s review of Once Upon a Princess by two of my faves, Harper Bliss and Clare Lydon.

ONCE UPON A PRINCESS

A love story that ticks all my lesbian fairytale fantasies… A must-read.

Princess Olivia is being forced into an arranged marriage to her ex-girlfriend (whom is of a certain pedigree) by her mother, the Queen of England. Olivia decides to have a few weeks in the Cornish Coast to clear her head and get ready for her pending nuptials. So, in disguise, she becomes a wealthy Londoner working for her family’s company. Just being away from the Royal family circus gives her time to reflect and meeting country girl, Rosie is the icing on the non-wedding cake. Rosie is down to earth, fiercely independent and everything that Olivia wants in a wife. As they begin to fall for each other, Olivia starts to question her loyalty to Royalty (BOOM). Can Olivia and Rosie really make it work? Can Rosie love Olivia, the Princess?

I knew before starting this book it was going to be something wonderful with Clare Lydon and Harper Bliss at the Helm. I read it in one sitting and couldn’t put it down for a moment. I am not a royalist by any means but I do have a soft spot for Meghan and Harry so reading this book while their wedding was taking place was even more magical. I kept picturing Rosie and Olivia getting married instead of Harry and Meghan… it just heightened the whole experience.

The writing was on point and I would really love to sit down with both authors and ask how they did it. Who wrote what sections or characters?

The characters were extremely fun to read and I was willing them to succeed from their first interaction, the chemistry between both Rosie and Olivia was beautiful and the sex scenes were not only extremely hot but you could also sense the real connection between both characters in the those intimate moments.

An excellent story line that will grip you from the beginning.

5 stars
