Friday Feels Fun: May 6th Edition

We made it to another Friday and it’s time to celebrate.

Below, you’ll find books, including two freebies, and the pet of the week. We truly hope these tidbits help everyone slide into weekend mode.

It’s week 17 of IHL’s Sapphic Reading Challenge. You can click here for reading suggestions for Single Parent stories. 10 of the books featured on the page are on sale, but today’s the last day to snatch these up at bargain prices.

We asked readers on Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, and Instagram to nominate their all-time favorite Fake Relationship romance. Find out who made the cut and cast your vote. Voting is open until May 28 and then we’ll announce the top three on June 2.

Now for today’s edition of Friday Feels. If you’d like to contribute to the weekly feature, click here to find out how.

Don’t forget to scroll all the way to the bottom to see a wonderful dog who loves the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Here are the top 3 most clicked books of the week on I Heart SapphFic:

Leave Or Remain

by Philippa Pegg

Available in Kindle Unlimited

Anna is a pro-Europe event manager in Brussels and her love life is in shambles – just like her home country following the Brexit vote. Since her bad break-up four years ago, she decided to focus on the job she loves in the city she loves. When she meets Camelia, she thinks she is the rudest woman she’s ever met. And worse, she’s a Brexiter!

Camelia loathes Brussels and wants nothing more than to go back to her posh London life. She keeps herself entertained with a string of one-night-stands, but has a strict policy of not letting feelings ruin the fun.

As they’re forced to work together for the upcoming Brexit conference, Anna discovers that there’s more to Camelia than meets the eye… At the same time, Camelia finds it surprisingly difficult to keep things casual with Anna.

But will that even matter when Anna finds out the truth about Camelia’s future?

A heartwarming and funny love story of first impressions, second chances, and learning to fight for what’s truly important.

Diving In

by Sage Donnell

Available in Kindle Unlimited

Morgan has finally had enough success as an author to pursue writing full time. She goes to Bonaire to write, but mostly ends up diving while gripped with a case of, well, not exactly writer’s block, but perhaps writer’s trickle. Words are coming, just slowly and painfully. When a mom and son move into the rental across the yard from her, at first she thinks it will make things worse. And, in terms of writing, it does, at least for a while. But getting to know Ash and Jake is definitely worth it.

Ash and her ten-year-old son, Jake, have been through a rough couple of years. When a windfall comes her way, Ash decides that they need a reset, and she takes Jake on the diving trip he’s always wanted. The across-the-yard neighbor is entirely too attractive, friendly, and competent, making Ash feel bumbling in comparison. But the more she gets to know Morgan, the less she wants to keep her distance.

As Ash and Morgan dive together, spend time in their shared yard, and bond over being Jake fans, the vacation fling starts to seem like more.

Love Burns

by Adrian J. Smith

A chef must learn to open her heart when challenged by her young but wise nanny, who has a knack for turning up the heat.

Kimberly Thompson—or Kim Burns, her stage name—is a celebrity chef whose career is taking off. As a single mom who has a penchant for being a bit of a bitch, she goes through nannies like the flavor of the month until Becca Kline is sent to her by Kiddie Academy.

Becca—known as ‘the fixer’—is often sent to homes considered to be troublemakers. In charge of caring for four-year-old Michael, she is determined to make this job her last before student teaching in the fall and finishing up her degree, which she has been working on for the better part of a decade.

Neither Kimberly nor Becca are prepared for the changes headed toward them, and they both have to learn the hard way that love doesn’t wait or discriminate.

Safe Passage

by Rachel Ford

Kay Ellis, a brilliant engineer with a checkered past, needs safe passage to escape her old bosses, the dangerous Conglomerate crime syndicate. Magdalene Landon has a ship, and a plan – but it doesn’t involve running away.

Then again, it doesn’t involve falling in love either…

Deal ends May 10.

State of Grace

by Addison Clarke

Available in Kindle Unlimited

Blake Calloway has spent decades thinking her mother didn’t want her, but letters found in a chest tell a very different story. Determined to find the truth, Blake hops on a plane and heads for Moonflower Cove, Maine, searching for answers. The last thing she expects to find is Alexis.

Content Warning: This novel references a rape that occurred off-page and is mentioned as backstory with no graphic detail.

Deal ends May 6.

Meet Isabelle

Isabelle loves her Oklahoma State Cowboys and family (her Auntie mostly). She loves long naps and hot dogs. Submitted by Shannon, a reader.

That’s all for this week.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!
