Friday Feels Fun: May 13th Edition

We made it to another Friday and it’s time to celebrate.

Below, you’ll find books, including two freebies, a new segment called 5 Random Things, and the pet of the week. We truly hope these tidbits help everyone slide into weekend mode.

It’s week 18 of IHL’s Sapphic Reading Challenge.  You can click here for reading suggestions for characters with disabilities or mental illness. 14 of the books featured on the page are on sale, but today’s the last day to snatch these up at bargain prices.

We asked readers on Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, and Instagram to nominate their all-time favorite fantasy romance. Find out who made the cut and cast your vote. Voting is open until June 4 and then we’ll announce the top three on June 9.

Now for today’s edition of Friday Feels. If you’d like to contribute to the weekly feature, click here to find out how.

Don’t forget to scroll all the way to the bottom to see a playful cat.

Here are the top 3 most clicked books of the week on I Heart SapphFic:

North Coast

by Dorothy Rice Bennett

Available in Kindle Unlimited

An artist/landlady in Eureka, on California’s North Coast, takes in a renter who is a Ph.D./waitress.

The landlady tries to remain emotionally uninvolved with the much younger tenant. But curiosity and attraction have something to say, as do local lesbian friends. The two women have nothing in common, except maybe the dog named Sam, but…

Roll With Me

by Elizabeth Andre

Can they stop running long enough to let love catch up with them?

Chloe is a former runner turned wheelchair racer with MS who doesn’t want sympathy or to be saved. She just wants to fall in love. When she meets Rachel, a fellow runner with long hair and beautiful legs, they initially fall for each other, but Chloe is not a regular wheelchair user and is able to keep her disability a secret. Rachel senses that Chloe is holding something back, and this secret tears their relationship apart. For them to be together, Chloe has to let Rachel run past her denial and roll even closer to her heart.

Pining & Loving

by Emma Radley

Available in Kindle Unlimited

Pining and loving. Which one carries the highest cost? And what price is worth paying?

The quiet, tough Aya Lawson has been forced to leave her career as a professional boxer behind and now scrambles for a purpose.

Gwen Davies is a chatty barista, and artist in her free time, who lives with clinical depression.

They both have battles to fight but they also have something else in common – pining over the woman of their dreams.

When daydreams one day meet reality, things get complicated. Is it best to stay with what’s safe? Or to fall and maybe break? If they do take the chance and break, who will get back up?

We’re introducing a new Friday Feels feature, called 5 Random Things. We want to help readers to get to know authors, all the while having a bit of fun.

To kick it off, the wonderful Jae has shared five random facts about herself.

  • I have aphantasia, which means I can’t form mental images (plus I also can’t recreate sound, taste, smell, etc., in my mind).
  • I’m a fountain pen nerd and always have at least 10 fountain pens inked up, each one with a different ink.
  • I have a twin sister, who is 7 minutes older, and she never lets me forget it.
  • My roommate says I sing like a nightingale…a nightingale with a really bad case of laryngitis.
  • Jae is my pen name, but it’s also my legal name since the German law allows authors & artists to add their pen/stage names to their IDs.

Right now, Jae’s book Paper Love is on sale for 99 cents. Click on the image for the Amazon universal link. The sale ends May 14th.

by Stephanie Shea

Mia Stone isn’t looking for romance, but when she collides with Lauryn—a beautiful, notorious popstar—on New Year’s Eve, fireworks go off. When Lauryn turns out to be Mia’s newest client, can they put aside their differences long enough to acknowledge the undercurrent of romance between them, or will an unspoken grudge forever keep them at odds?

Deal ends May 17.

Life in Bits

by Harper Bliss & TB Markinson

Can a Christmas romance mend a life that’s broken to pieces?

When Eileen meets Naomi Weaver, a small-town girl who dedicates her free time to helping those in need, Eileen is entranced by Naomi’s zest for life. Can Eileen overcome her inner demons and troubled family relationships to let Naomi in?

Best-selling lesbian romance authors Harper Bliss & T.B. Markinson have teamed up to bring this touching age-gap love story to life.

Deal ends May 13.

Meet George

This is George of the Jungle. He decided to play hide and seek in a grocery bag. I went to pick it up to put in recycling and his head popped out.  Submitted by Mag, a reader.

That’s all for this week.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!
