I Heart SapphFic is planning a 99-cent sale, which will start on July 22.
The Sale Details:
This sale will run July 22 through July 26 and there will only be one price point: 99 cents.
The majority of the promotion for the IHS Christmas in July Sale will be handled via social media. We’re asking all authors to post at least one message about the sale on their personal Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, blog, or whatever social media you prefer. We will be assembling a team of authors to get the word out via their newsletters, which will help us reach readers strategically without annoying them by flooding their inboxes with hundreds of emails at once.
What type of sapphic books will be included?
This is a sapphic fiction sale, meaning all sub genres are welcome as long as the book is classified as sapphic fiction, even if it doesn’t have a romantic subplot.
We’re often asked what counts as sapphic. IHS includes all sapphic books, meaning books about characters who identify as lesbian, queer, bisexual, pansexual, homoromantic asexual or demisexual, sapphic trans women, sapphic nonbinary people, or other identities on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum.
Please note, your blurb must be no longer than 50 words. We’re wanting snappy elevator pitches, not a full synopsis. You can check BookBub for great examples of this type of blurb.
How many can I submit?
An author can submit up to 3 books at the 99-cent price point per pen name. To clarify, if you publish under Jane Doe and Jane Smith, you can submit 3 titles for Jane Doe and 3 titles for Jane Smith. We know some authors have collaborated with fellow sapphic authors. We will count these separately. Again, if Jane Doe and Jane Smith cowrote novels, Jane Doe can submit 3 titles, Jane Smith can submit 3 titles, and writing duo Doe and Smith can submit 3 titles.
If you’re with a publisher and aren’t in control of your pricing or if you can’t lower the price of one of your books right now, you can still get involved if you have a book or story that’s regularly listed at the 99-cent price point. The book must be available at that price on Amazon. We are unable to include books that are only discounted on your website, BookFunnel, etc.
In order to be included in the sale, the 99-cent deal (or the equivalent price point in the other marketplaces) must be available in all the marketplaces on Amazon, not solely the US and UK. From experience, readers outside the US and UK will feel left out when a deal doesn’t apply to them, which could potentially result in negative comments, especially on social media. Negativity spreads quickly, and it may impact all the authors involved in the sale.

How to submit a book:
The deadline for supplying the details is Tuesday, July 12. The sooner you can get us the details, the better.
Please feel free to spread the word to other sapphic authors.
