Project Kindness

During 2020 on I Heart Lesfic, we ran a segment called Project Laughter because we thought all of us could use a good chuckle.

After much thought, we’ve decided the theme for 2021 will be Project Kindness, which is something we think a lot of us could use in 2021 after one of the hardest and longest of years.

At least once a week, hopefully twice, we’ll post a guest blog from a lesfic author sharing a story involving kindness. The guest post doesn’t have to be super long (300 to 700 words).

As an example, TB could share about the time when she was still in college and her landlord was kicking TB out of her home to sell it. At the time, she didn’t have much money for first and last month’s rent plus a deposit.

When TB went to look at a rental, the owner took a liking to her and allowed TB to move in right away without charging rent for the first month (not even prorated) since she moved in on the fifteenth. TB never even mentioned to him she was flat broke and in desperate need of a roof over her head. He simply did it out of the goodness of his heart. Basically, he saved TB from couch surfing or possibly ending up on the street.

IHL is asking if you’d like to provide a guest post about an act of kindness. It could be when you were on the receiving end or something you did for someone. We’ll include your latest book and a bio with social media links. Also, we’ll put together a giveaway if you’re willing to send an ebook to one winner. Please note, after we supply the email address, you’ll be responsible for contacting the winner and sending the book via email.

If you’d like to take part, all you have to do is email with Project Kindness in the subject line. In the body, please let IHL know:

  • what month you’d like to be featured
  • the title of the book you want to promote
  • if you want to give away an ebook
  • short bio
  • social media links

We’ll schedule the guest post and let you know the date.

Please don’t submit excerpts from one of your books. We’re looking for original guest posts that will engage readers.

To book your spot, you don’t have to have the guest post ready. We’ll need those one week before your scheduled time.

What do you say? Want to help IHL spread kindness in the world?

Thanks for your time,

TB Markinson and Miranda MacLeod
