I don’t know about you, but the world seems to be getting pretty (insert your favorite colorful word here) intense. While I like to stay informed, I also like to laugh to deal with stress. And, I need some chuckles these days.
So, I’m starting a theme on I Heart Lesfic for 2020. I’m calling it Project Laughter. At least once a week, hopefully more, I’ll post a guest blog from a lesfic author sharing an embarrassing moment in their lives. The guest post doesn’t have to be super long (300 to 700 words). Just enough to make people smile or outright guffaw. (That’s rofl for those under 40.)
Readers like to know authors are humans. I’m betting they also like to laugh.
As an example, I could share about the time I peed my pants in kindergarten, but my mom wasn’t available to get me, so the school called a family friend. My knickers were soaked, so I had to sit on a plastic bag in her car, and then she plopped me into a hot bath. I should note the family friend was an amazing mom of two boys, and she was always super kind to me. I think after my bath, I got milk and cookies. Also, I didn’t have to go back to school that day. The bad news, I was the kid who pissed her pants at school. It took some time to recover from that. I laugh about it now, though.
I’m asking if you’d like to provide a guest post about an embarrassing moment. I’ll include your latest book and a bio with social media links. If you have a newsletter, especially with a freebie offer, I’d love to promote that as well in the post.
All you have to do is email tbm@iheartlesfic.com with Project Laughter in the subject line. In the body, please let me know what month you’d like to be featured, and I’ll schedule the guest post.
The first will go live in January of 2020. To book your spot, you don’t have to have the guest post ready. I’ll need those one week before your scheduled time.
What do you say? Want to help me put a smile on readers’ faces?
