Writing Retreat in Maine

You may have noticed that TB and Miranda were missing in action the past week or so. The reason? They booked a lake house in Maine for a writing retreat because they have an editing date staring them in the eyes and they needed to leave civilization (also known as Wi-Fi) to buckle down.

It wasn’t all writing, and TB loves to snap photos wherever she goes. Check them out below.

The drive was well over 7 hours, and on the way up, they stopped in Bangor, where Stephen King lives. Here are some photos, including the gate, which has bats and spider webs.

The cabin, scenery, and lake.

In the evening, TB reread Another Stupid Love Song, Miranda’s cowrite with Em Stevens.

After the long hours on their laptops, they enjoyed the sunsets with wine, chatting about Devil’s Advocate, the book they’re knee-deep in.

The wildlife.

Make sure no children are in the room, but here’s the terrifying squirrel that harassed TB.

On the way back to Massachusetts, they visited Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island, and took a spin around the island.

They stopped at a bookshop with a cool set of stairs.

Lastly, here’s a photo of Grey, TB’s cat, pleading with TB to never leave again.

About TBM

TB Markinson is an American who's recently returned to the US after a seven-year stint in the UK and Ireland. When she isn't writing, she's traveling the world, watching sports on the telly, visiting pubs in New England, or reading. Not necessarily in that order. Her novels have hit Amazon bestseller lists for lesbian fiction and lesbian romance. She cohosts the Lesbians Who Write Podcast (lesbianswhowrite.com) with Clare Lydon. TB also runs I Heart Lesfic (iheartlesfic.com), a place for authors and fans of lesfic to come together to celebrate lesbian fiction.

Even if it was a writing retreat it is a lovely place based on these pictures. Hope the squirrel didn’t hurt himself while scaring TB. Hope you enjoyed such beauty.
