Authors: How to get your book listed in the newsletter

Calling all lesfic authors!

Got a new release on the horizon? Give IHL a shout, and we’ll include your book in the newsletter dedicated to announcing, you guessed it, new releases (ebook and/or audio). And here’s the best part. It’s totally free!

In order to have a book featured in the IHL New Release Newsletter, authors and/or publishers MUST send an email to IHL with all the details outlined below.

But first, here’s some information about how it all works.

We want to make it absolutely clear the newsletter will only include titles (ebook and audio) that are available on Amazon. It’s too much work to keep up with all the release dates on other platforms, including an author and/or publisher website.

The newsletter will be sent out on most Tuesdays (click here for the schedule), and your book must be younger than 60 days old to be included.

IHL does not include the price of a new release, including a special new release discount.

We’re often asked what counts as lesbian books. IHL includes all sapphic books, meaning books about characters who identify as lesbian, queer, bisexual, pansexual, homoromantic asexual or demisexual, sapphic trans women, sapphic nonbinary people, or other identities on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum.

IHL includes all subgenres of lesbian books, not solely romance.

For authors who rapid release, each newsletter will only feature an author once in the ebook and once in the audio section, but not the same book in each section. This means, Jane Doe can have one book in the ebook section and an entirely different book in the audio section. If the ebook and audio are released on the same day, IHL prioritizes the ebook first and the audio will be featured in the next available edition. If Jane Doe releases three ebooks and/or audiobooks on the same date, the books will be featured in different newsletters, but again the same ebook and audio will not be included in the same edition of the newsletter.

In order to have your book in a certain edition, you must email the details the Thursday before the upcoming Tuesday newsletter. However, this does not guarantee it will appear in the next newsletter. It depends on available space.

Here’s what we need from you.
