Can a cup of tea predict true love?
When Jaye Callaghan’s dubiously clairvoyant best friend predicts that her soulmate is on the horizon, Jaye isn’t exactly persuaded. But when she walks into Lanport clinic and meets Charlie, she starts to think that maybe her luck is changing.
Charlie Riley is a machine. Or she was. A top rated ER doctor with a mind like a trap, she shouldn’t be doctoring in a small ocean-front resort town. She’s mysterious, cold, and very, very sexy.
This is supposed to be a match made in heaven, but there’s a problem. Charlie doesn’t believe in soulmates. Or clairvoyants. Or love.
It’s up to Jaye to persuade the ice-queen doctor that not only is love real, but that her soulmate is standing right in front of her. But as the stakes rise and the attraction between the two women grows hotter Jaye’s faith in romance is shattered. Can Charlie help her put it back together?
Believing in true love is hard, but maybe, just sometimes, it’s enough to have someone else believe for you.

The leader made sure Geneva learned from her mistake, putting Geneva in charge of creating a sanctuary for the flora and fauna Commander Heron insisted Geneva needs to collect.
Hearing what her commander wanted, Geneva knew she could leave the colony to explore without being chastised. Twenty-five-year-old Vanity Chase had the world by the tail. She had just released her first single record and it was shooting to the top of the charts. She was poised to be country music’s next darling and nothing could stop her.
Vanity had it all: long blonde hair, perfect figure, beautiful face, and a voice the angels envied. She knew she was the whole package.
As she drove home, she mentally ran through the list of things she had procured for her birthday party at the apartment clubhouse. The band was set up and ready to go. The caterer was arranging the buffet tables around the party room, cases of beer, wine, and whiskey were stacked behind the bar, and her manager had scored some primo (joints of weed laced with cocaine) for her and her friends. Yep, this is gonna be one hell of a party, she thought as she drove to her apartment.
She hoped Pam was home and getting ready. She hated it when they both ended up in the bathroom trying to take a shower at the same time. I really need to cut Pam loose, she thought. I’m certainly not taking her to Nashville with me.
Yes, Vanity’s life was perfect, or was it.

Charli’s wife, Monique, was promoted to Professor and was now being rewarded with a generous sabbatical at work. While Charli was picturing a family vacation in Europe, Monique was picturing a personal sabbatical – time to throw herself into work and discover herself at the same time. She suggested Charli take her own sabbatical, too, but Charli wasn’t sure they’d ever be able to come back from that. Besides, how do they juggle it with their two adult children who hadn’t even left home yet?
Charli’s sister, Sophie, a doctor, juggles it all, including a busy household with four teenage kids. After thirty years together, Sophie and Phil can almost predict one another’s next move, but Phil just can’t forgive Sophie and move on from what she’s done. Maybe some time out wouldn’t hurt.
Their youngest sister, Alice, is about to turn forty, but she’s wondering what her future will bring. Does she really see herself settled down and having kids with Jason? Is marriage even for her? And why does everyone else seem to have their lives together, while she still feels like a big kid herself?
Charli decides to escape it all, taking her sisters with her. If a marriage sabbatical is on the agenda, perhaps they will end up questioning everything she ever thought really mattered. Maybe for the three Wilson sisters, marriage sabbatical could change everything… or nothing at all!
‘The Marriage Sabbatical’ explores women’s middle-aged lifestyles, having it all and finding out what you really want.
Do their marriages need to mend, or end?
by Janis E. Mills
I knew I was gay at age eight when my mother’s definition of queer described me perfectly. I hid my truth and left small town Pennsylvania for the city life of Washington, DC. immediately after college graduation.
My mother carried memories of tragic family deaths and a lesbian encounter of her own. When she questioned my lifestyle and said she would “blame herself and not know what to do for the rest of her life,” I thought she might take her own life so, I lied. My father, raised in the non-traditional life of circus performers, unleashed me to be whoever I wanted to be but I continued my double life of straight daughter and gay lover.
Then becoming a teacher and high school principal, I also lived a secret nocturnal life−my triple life. Bartending in shady parts of D.C., I was hit by a rock, saw a gun pulled on my friend, and witnessed fights, arrests, and marches that pitted straights against gays. I jumped from girlfriend to girlfriend, courted a few straight girls, and dabbled in activities far different from the straight educator I portrayed by day.
On the day of my father’s funeral, my mother proclaimed her recognition of my gayness. What I hoped would be a celebration of love and openness was anticlimactic. I had wasted too many years. My father was gone, and I had lost friends rather than share my truth.
Against the backdrop of the burgeoning LGBTQ movement, I became a courageous trailblazer and did my own coming out in a big way, I married a woman. Now I share my truth with the world and enjoy the happiness that honesty has given me.
Do not make the mistakes I made. Openly love who you love.

narrated by Melissa Sternenberg

Will the risks they take be worth the reward? Or have they wagered on a losing bet?

As a behavioral scientist, Professor Nicole Hathaway’s work strips away the foolish mystique that surrounds the human mating dance. When her academic tome is treated as a viral “love manual”, her ecstatic publisher books her to appear all over the US and Europe. Worse yet, her quiet, managed life has been shattered by a series of incompetent assistants. And she’s certain this Lily Smith creature isn’t going to be any less a burden than the last assistant they sent her. Or the one before that. Or before that….
Lillian Linden-Smith needs this job. With a relentless TV lawyer and public mob still out for her blood for crimes committed by her “American royalty” parents, getting out of the country is her only hope for anonymity. If that means cleaning up and presenting an antisocial know-it-all PhD for bookstores, clubs, and lectures, fine. Dr. Hathaway may have succeeded in driving away all the others, but not this time.
From their first meeting the sparks fly, and each is thinking: She has no idea who she’s dealing with.

A caretaker by trade, she also takes care of her widowed dad, her brother, her sister, and everybody else on the planet, it seems. When her dad finally starts dating, Savannah can focus on her own life for once – her career, her house, maybe even that super-hot bartender at Martini’s who has her thinking naughty thoughts.
